5 Simple Steps to Better Cueing

Stand Square

Stand square behind the Qline coaching aid until you can see an equal amount of 'yellow' on each side of the Qline. This allows you to check you are looking straight down the line of aim. With this information confirmed, extend the line back to the body and eyes and this gives the player the correct standing position for every shot

Step In

Step into the shot (right handed player, right leg first), placing the foot or heel on the line of the shot to help drop the butt of the cue perfectly on the line. Then aim to get your cue perfectly straight along the white QLine. This will help you to achieve a straight cue, with the tip and the butt perfectly on the line of the shot.

Address It

In the address position and check if you can still see an equal amount of 'yellow' on each side of the Qline coaching aid while down on the cue. Adjust the cue position if needed, based on feedback and this is where the cue should be placed in relation to the chin.

Cue Through

Deliver the cue through the Qline, without hitting either side of the Qline coaching aid, to test for straight cueing. This should be done with varying power.

Around The Table

You can set up the cue ball for straight or angled shots using the Qline coaching aid. This can help you check alignment and straight cueing while actually playing shots. This allows you feedback in terms of alignment for aiming and for straight cueing accuracy and consistency during the delivery phase.

The QLine Training Aid...

Helps You See Straight

A simple training aid that quickly teaches you your visual line and how you see straight. Our specifically designed colour blocks quickly do this in a way no other aids can.

Helps You Cue Straight

The QLine gives you instant feedback to how you cue. If you cue to the left or the right, the feedback will be instant.

Easy To Use

There's nothing complex about the QLine. It's simple to use, self explanatory and comes with the information. Everything is in the open.

Easy To Use

Simply place the QLine on the table, and you're good to go. You can use this alongside any of your existing routines, or even learn some new ones through as we release new practise routines as we continue to sell this amazing product.

Instant Feedback

The QLine shows you instantly how you currently see with your visual line, and then corrects you in how to see straight. This simple step is the start to changing how you approach a ball, helping you cue straighter.

Improves your Cueing

The QLine isn't very wide, meaning if you are cueing across the cue ball, the QLine will move and you will know you are cueing wrong. Through practice, this snooker training aid helps you cue straighter and straighter.

No Need For A Coach

As much as there will be QLine Coaches throughout the world to improve your game, you don't need one to get value from the QLine. Everything it comes with is enough to get you seeing and cueing straighter.

Introducing Alan Francis

Creator & Founder Of Cue Line

“Originally from Aberdare, I embarked on my snooker journey at the age of 17, inspired by Joe Davis’s seminal work, “Complete Snooker.”

After dedicating 26 years to the Civil Service, my path took a pivotal turn in 1996 when I attended Terry Griffiths’s inaugural snooker coaching course. This experience ignited my passion for coaching, leading me to become a qualified Welsh Snooker coach.

I spent several years coaching at Porth and more recently at Cue Club Aberaman. While coaching, I discovered common issues with sighting, notably the tendency to hit across the ball—a challenge I personally faced as well. My addiction to personal development drove me to explore the impact of vision on snooker performance, leading to the creation of the Qline device. This tool helps players find their correct visual line, significantly enhancing their game and enjoyment.

I am thrilled that through collaborations with professionals like Lee Walker and Mark Williams, the Qline is set to reach a global audience. My ultimate goal is to empower players at all levels to improve their game independently using the Qline, transforming their playing experience with groundbreaking self-coaching tools.”
